The Call of Duty League posted on August 4 that Exposure has been removed from the map pool for the Black Ops 7 Esports World Cup. The event starts the next day, August 5, and runs to August 9 in Paris with sixteen teams in two groups of eight. The League had published the full EWC map pool on July 29, which means the pool changed inside the last week before the opening series.
Confirmed. The removal comes from the Call of Duty League's own account on August 4, and it lines up with Call of Duty's July 31 notice pulling Exposure from Ranked Play. What no official source has stated is what the issue actually is, or whether the map returns for this event or the season.
This is the second removal of the same map in five days. On July 31, Call of Duty said Exposure had been temporarily removed from the Ranked Play maps and modes pool while it investigated an issue. Neither post says what the issue is. What we now know is that whatever it is, it was not resolved in time for the biggest Black Ops 7 event of the year.

Exposure arrived in Season 05 as one of five maps added to the Ranked Play Search and Destroy pool, alongside Frequency, Vertigo, Colossus, and Scar. Those five were the reason the Ranked pool felt fresh in late July. One of them is now unavailable in Ranked and unavailable at the Esports World Cup, which changes the odds on every other map in the rotation.
- Your practice pool shrank. Season 05 gave Search five new maps. With Exposure out of Ranked, four of them carry the load, so the maps you actually see in a Ranked night are more predictable and easier to prep against.
- The pro pool is your preview. What the League runs at an event is the closest thing to a competitive map list. Exposure being cut a day before the opening series means it is not a map worth building a set around right now.
- Learn the four that stayed. Frequency, Vertigo, Colossus, and Scar are the Season 05 additions still standing. If you are grinding Ranked Search this week, those are the ones repaying the reps.
- No return date exists. Nothing official says when Exposure comes back to either pool. Plan your rotation on what is playable now, not on a map that might return mid-season.
A map pulled from Ranked is a warning. A map pulled from the world championship a day before it starts is an answer.
What is still open
The removal is confirmed. The reason is not. Call of Duty called it an issue under investigation on July 31 and has not described it since, and the League's August 4 post gives the outcome without a cause. There is also no stated return path: no official source has said whether Exposure comes back for the playoff stage, later in Season 05, or at all. If you want the honest version, we know the map is out and we do not know why.
A Call of Duty patch note or an updates post naming the Exposure issue would close this out. Until one lands, treat any explanation you see in a clip or a thread as someone guessing.
