Call of Duty pushed a Black Ops 7 and Warzone update across all platforms on the evening of August 5 and posted the notes at the same time. It is a small patch. For anyone running Ranked Search and Destroy, the useful part is the list of things it does not touch.
Confirmed. We read the August 5 section of the official Black Ops 7 Season 05 patch notes and the official Call of Duty Updates post that announced the update, and neither carries a Ranked Play map pool change. One caveat worth holding: the seasonal map tables higher up that page still list Exposure, because those tables are the Season 05 launch list rather than a live pool readout, and no official post has reversed the July 31 removal.
What the August 5 patch actually does
- Ranked Play menu A bug that could stop players from selecting the Top 250 tile in Multiplayer and Warzone Ranked Play is fixed.
- Attachments Equipping the M34 Novaline Garand Conversion no longer displays other stock attachments as incompatible.
- Medals An issue that could prevent players from earning the Strike Delivered Medal is fixed.
- Events and Zombies Fuel Cans now drop for the Machine of War event in Gauntlet Rush, and a Rogue Run enemy spawn bug in Veytharion's Sepulcher on Ashes of the Damned is corrected.
- Menus A missing Friends List filter prompt in the Social menu and stretched animated calling cards in the Showcase are both cleaned up.
What it does not do
There is no weapon tuning dated August 5. The AN-94 damage profile change that removed its four shot body kill at max range, the Swordfish A1 burst delay increase, and the DS20 Mirage rework all stand exactly as they were. There is also no Ranked Play map pool entry, and that is the line worth reading twice. Exposure was pulled from the Ranked Play Maps and Modes pool on July 31 while Call of Duty investigated an issue, and a full patch cycle has now passed with no official post putting it back.
Why Hardcore SnD cares
A patch that changes no guns is not a boring patch, it is a stable one. Everything you drilled in the last two weeks is still the correct answer this weekend, and that is rare enough in a live season to be worth planning around.
- Your gun stays your gun No damage profile or burst delay moved, so the Season 05 rifle and marksman picks you settled on carry straight into this weekend's Search lobbies.
- The pool is still short Ranked Search and Destroy is running without Exposure until Call of Duty says otherwise, which shortens the veto tree and raises the value of your remaining bans.
- Top 250 is reachable again The fixed Top 250 tile matters if you are chasing the ladder, because the tile was the way into that view for Multiplayer and Warzone Ranked Play.
A quiet patch is still information. It means the guns you practiced with are the guns you play.
The open question is Exposure. It came out of the pool on July 31 as a temporary measure while Call of Duty investigated, and the first game update since then went by without a word on it. Watch the Call of Duty Updates account rather than the patch notes map tables, because the tables show the Season 05 launch list and not what is live in the pool right now.
