DISPATCH 2026.10 / INTEL CONFIDENCE: CONFIRMED

Blank Combat Record, classes that will not save

Activision's running Modern Warfare 4 known-issues page, dated October 23, names four problems the team is tracking. Two of them land on competitive play directly: some players cannot save Multiplayer loadouts, and some are not seeing their stats in the Combat Record or on the Leaderboards. Activision says the stats one is a display issue only and that the numbers are still being tracked.

Activision keeps a running known-issues page for Modern Warfare 4, and the version we read is stamped October 23. It lists four problems under investigation: some players cannot save Loadouts in Multiplayer, some are not seeing their stats in the Combat Record and Leaderboards, some Xbox on PC players have no button to launch the game from COD Home, and some players cannot Prestige an active operator in DMZ. The page carries a workaround for the DMZ Prestige issue and none for the other three.

Confidence

Confirmed, and unusually clean for launch week. This is Activision's own support page stating what it is tracking, in its own words, with its own October 23 date stamp, so there is no reporting layer between the claim and the publisher. Two limits worth carrying: the page gives no fix window for any of the four issues, and it names no cause, so how many players are affected is not a question the page answers or that we can answer for it.

Why Hardcore SnD cares

Two of the four are not quality-of-life complaints for a one-life Search player. They are the two halves of competing: the kit you bring, and the record you leave. Lose the first and you are playing someone else's loadout. Lose the second and you played a good week that nothing can show.

  • A class you cannot save is a class you do not have Search is the mode where Ninja, Ghost, Overkill and your optic choice decide rounds. A player stuck on defaults is not a weaker teammate, they are a different teammate than the one your strat assumed.
  • The stats are reportedly safe, the display is not Activision is explicit that this one is display only and that stats are still being tracked. That matters: it means the grind is not lost, it is just invisible for now.
  • Invisible is still a problem for proving A Combat Record you cannot open is a record you cannot screenshot. If you are arguing for a slot or a seed on your numbers this week, the numbers may not be there to show.
  • Check before you rebuild If your classes will not save, you are on a tracked bug, not on something you misconfigured. Rebuilding the same class five times does not beat a server-side issue.

How this sits next to the Prestige class bug

Call of Duty's live-issues account has separately said that players who enter Classic Prestige through the DMZ menus instead of the Multiplayer menus can end up unable to create new Multiplayer classes. The support page's loadout line is broader than that and names no cause, so the honest read is that they may be the same root problem described at two levels of detail, or two different problems that look the same from the create-a-class screen. Nothing we read this run settles which. If your classes stopped saving right after you Prestiged, the narrower issue and its workaround are the ones to start from.

What Activision has not said

No fix window appears on the page for any of the four, and none of them are named in the October 24 patch notes known-issues list, which tracks a different set: the temporarily disabled regional map animation, the spectating kick, and a DMZ dog tag network error on PC. Two official lists, two different sets of issues, one launch week. Read both before you decide whether what you are hitting is known.

The grind is still being counted. You just cannot see it yet.

Rebuild the class, then build the record
