DISPATCH 2026.08 / INTEL CONFIDENCE: RUMOR

The cheap Discord tier reportedly does not get you in.

The Discord Nitro route into the Modern Warfare 4 beta picked up a detail that costs money to get wrong. A new guide says full Nitro at ten dollars a month is the tier that reportedly earns a code and Nitro Basic at three dollars is not, and that the code would redeem through Activision rather than on your platform. A week after the original leak, neither Discord nor Activision has confirmed any part of it.

RumorMW4Open BetaAccessLeak

We tracked this one as a rumor on July 29: a Discord datamining account claimed Nitro subscribers would get a Modern Warfare 4 beta code plus a weapon blueprint at launch. It has now been a week, the story has spread to a how-to guide, and the underlying claim has not moved an inch closer to confirmed.

Confidence

Rumor. Every version of this traces back to one Discord datamining post from July 28, and the new tier detail is written as what it appears to be rather than as something a named source states. Discord's published Nitro perks list still does not include a Call of Duty beta code, and Activision has not addressed it.

What changed

Esports.gg published a guide on August 5 that adds terms the original post did not carry. It says the code reportedly requires the full Discord Nitro plan at ten dollars a month, and that Nitro Basic at three dollars would not qualify. It also describes the redemption path: a code delivered through your Discord account, redeemed on Activision's site with your Call of Duty login and chosen platform, which then sends a second code you use to install the beta. The blueprint would land at launch on October 23 and would need your Discord and Call of Duty accounts linked.

Read the sourcing carefully, because the guide is honest about it. It attributes the eligibility rule to various Discord sources and says it appears you need the premium tier. It also says nobody knows when codes go out. That is a writer relaying a leak with hedges attached, not an outlet confirming terms.

Why Hardcore SnD cares

The Early Access beta weekend runs August 21 to 25 and Activision has confirmed Search and Destroy is playable in the beta. For a competitive player that weekend is not a demo, it is the first real look at MW4 gunplay, map callouts, and one-life pacing before everyone else gets in on August 28. Access is worth planning for. It is not worth buying a subscription for on the strength of a datamined string.

  • The tier claim has a price tag. If somebody subscribes to Nitro Basic expecting a code and the report is right, they paid for nothing. If they upgrade to full Nitro and the whole thing never ships, they paid more for nothing.
  • The free route is already confirmed. The Open Beta from August 28 to September 1 is free on all platforms. Nobody needs a code for that weekend, and Search and Destroy is in the beta.
  • Codes go out on someone else's timeline. The guide states plainly that the distribution date is unknown. Anyone planning a squad's beta weekend around a code that has no announced delivery date is planning around a blank.
A leak that gets more specific is not a leak that got more confirmed.

What is not confirmed

All of it. Discord has not announced a Call of Duty beta perk, and its published list of Nitro and Nitro Basic perks does not include one. Activision's official beta post describes the Early Access weekend as running August 21 to 25 for players who pre-ordered and says nothing about Discord. The tier split, the redemption flow, the blueprint, and the timing are all unconfirmed. Worth flagging too: the guide calls the August 21 weekend a closed beta, while Activision's own post calls it Early Access for pre-orders.

What would verify it

One of three things: a Discord announcement or a Nitro perks page that lists a Call of Duty beta code, an Activision or Call of Duty post naming Discord as a beta access route, or codes actually appearing in subscribers' Nitro tabs. Any of those and we upgrade this. The clean falsifier is just as simple: if August 21 arrives and no Nitro subscriber has a code, this was never real, and we will say so on this page.
