DISPATCH 2026.10 / INTEL CONFIDENCE: REPORTED

Sprint will not break your scope right now.

Insider Gaming, relaying Infinity Ward's public live-issues board on October 26, lists an open Modern Warfare 4 issue where pressing sprint or melee does not pull you out of ADS if you have Toggle ADS enabled. Activision's own known-issues page does not carry it, so the board relay is the only path to it we could read this run.

Toggle ADS has been the quiet competitive default for years. You tap to scope, you tap to leave, and the thing that always broke it for free was movement: press sprint, the scope drops, you are running. Insider Gaming, relaying Infinity Ward's public Modern Warfare 4 live-issues board on October 26, lists that escape hatch as broken. Pressing sprint or melee does not pull you out of ADS if Toggle ADS is enabled.

Confidence

Reported. The item comes from Insider Gaming relaying Infinity Ward's public live-issues board, which is a credible path but not the board itself: Trello would not load for us this run, so we could not read the primary. Activision's own known-issues page does not list this item, and Insider Gaming's own page is internally inconsistent about recency, stamped October 26 in its title while its body says the latest board update was October 22. A player report of the same behavior lines up with it, which is corroboration of the symptom, not confirmation of a tracked bug.

It sits under Global on that list, alongside matchmaking quality and stability and a resolution-scaling conflict with the VRRT Denoiser. The Multiplayer section of the same list carries three more open items: Calling Card challenges not tracking, the Classic Prestige lock that stops players who prestiged through DMZ menus from building new Multiplayer classes, and the Patriot XMR Platinum challenge refusing to unlock.

Why Hardcore SnD cares

Hardcore Search and Destroy is a mode of held angles and committed rotations, and the switch between those two states is almost always a sprint input. If the scope does not drop when you ask it to, you are not repositioning, you are shuffling across an open lane at ADS speed with a narrowed field of view, one life in the bank and a round clock running.

  • Rotations get slower than you planned a scoped walk out of a site costs you the seconds that made the rotation worth calling.
  • The melee out is gone too the panic knife at a corner is the Toggle ADS player's last resort, and on this list it does not break the scope either.
  • Your settings stop being neutral if Hold ADS dodges the fault and Toggle does not, a comfort setting quietly becomes a competitive one for as long as it is open.
  • It is a team problem, not a personal one a one-life mode punishes whoever is slowest to get where the call sent them, and the whole round pays for it.

What is not confirmed

No official Activision page we read this run carries this item. Activision's Modern Warfare 4 known-issues page lists four tracked issues and this is not among them, and Infinity Ward's live-issues board, the primary that Insider Gaming is relaying, did not load for us. We also cannot say what the fault's shape is: whether it hits every platform or only some, whether it affects both sprint and tactical sprint, or whether it is on the board as a bug at all rather than an intended change to how Toggle ADS now works.

What would verify it

Two things would settle it. The clean one is Activision adding the item to its own Modern Warfare 4 known-issues page, or a dated patch-notes section listing a fix for sprint or melee not exiting ADS on Toggle. The other is the live-issues board becoming readable again with the item on it, which would turn this from a relay into a primary. Either one moves this to Official Intel. A patch note that describes the current behavior as intended would falsify the bug reading entirely and make it a settings story instead.

Until then

If you run Toggle ADS and your repositioning feels heavy, test it yourself in Proving Grounds before you change a setting you have used for years. Scope in, press sprint, and watch whether the scope drops. That takes thirty seconds and it beats guessing in a live round.
