Activision Support confirms an Open Beta for Modern Warfare 4, pre-ordering or pre-purchasing any edition on any supported platform guarantees Open Beta Early Access, and the Open Beta runs a minimum of two days. The exact dates have not been posted. For hardcore Search and Destroy players, the beta is the first time you can put hands on the systems that decide one-life rounds, so the move now is to build a test list.

What to test first

Core players can wander the beta. Hardcore SnD players should treat it like a checklist. Low health makes every one of these decide rounds, so test them on purpose instead of finding out mid-scrim later.

• Spawns: Learn how spawns settle on the Search-capable maps. One bad flip in one-life play loses the round, not just a respawn.
• Audio: Check footstep readability, occlusion, and whether Dead Silence or its equivalent breaks the sound game. Audio is the hardcore meta.
• TTK and visibility: Feel out the new gunplay at hardcore health, including the named Ballistic Authority no-bloom hipfire, and whether visibility and red dots stay readable in motion.
• Private match settings: Open the menus. Confirm what is adjustable: Hardcore toggles, Search settings, spectator behavior, and whether a team can reproduce league rules cleanly.

What is not confirmed yet

The dates. Do not anchor roster prep, scrim blocks, or Drip League registration deadlines to a guessed beta window. CoD betas have historically landed in the weeks before launch, but historical patterns are not an announcement. When Activision posts the exact window, this dispatch gets updated.
