Another name hits the board, and Shotzzy says OpTic is not moving

The Call of Duty League account posted on August 18 that Toronto KOI's InsightGawd is an unrestricted free agent, adding one more name to a board that has been filling since August 10. Days earlier, OpTic's Shotzzy answered the HyDra rumors on stream by asking why anyone is discussing roster changes for a team that is still winning.

Call of Duty League free agency has been running since August 10, and it picked up another name on August 18 when the league account posted that Toronto KOI's InsightGawd is an unrestricted free agent. Toronto KOI put out a farewell to him within the same hour. The board keeps filling ahead of the Modern Warfare 4 season, and the loudest question on it just got answered by the player at the center of it.

Confidence

Mixed, so held at reported. The InsightGawd declaration comes straight from the Call of Duty League's own account, which makes the status change solid. The OpTic layer does not: the HyDra reporting is second hand through esports.gg, and the player it would most affect has publicly said the opposite. Nothing here is a signing.

Where the board stands

  • InsightGawd Declared an unrestricted free agent by the Call of Duty League account on August 18, with Toronto KOI posting a thank you the same hour.
  • HyDra Rostermania reporting relayed by esports.gg says he wants out of the Los Angeles Thieves with OpTic Texas top of his list. That report is second hand.
  • Shotzzy Answered the rumors on his first stream back after the Esports World Cup, asking why roster changes are being discussed for a team that is still winning.
  • Huke The OpTic in-game leader is the seat the reported HyDra move would cost. Nothing has been announced by the team either way.

Why Hardcore SnD cares

Free agency is where next season's Search and Destroy gets decided. The seats in play here are SMG seats, and the SMG is the role that takes first contact into a site, trades the opening duel and holds the angle after the plant. A team that swaps its entry player changes how it plays every Search map before a single competitive round is played on Modern Warfare 4.

  • Watch the SMG seats Entry roles move first in every rostermania because they are the highest variance slot in Search and Destroy.
  • The Infinity Ward angle Reporting notes HyDra peaked in Modern Warfare 2, the last Infinity Ward title, which is why his market is loud going into an Infinity Ward year.
  • Nothing is signed A free agent declaration is a status change, not a transfer. Until a team posts a roster, none of this is settled.

What is not confirmed

No signing has been announced for any name above. The HyDra to OpTic story traces back to a single insider report relayed by esports.gg, and the player most affected by it has publicly said the opposite on his own stream. The sources differ, and this page treats both sides as claims rather than outcomes. We also have no league statement on how long this free agency window stays open.

What would verify it

A roster post from the team itself, or a signing post from the Call of Duty League account, is the only thing that settles a move. Those are the posts worth waiting for. Anything before one of those lands, this page included, is a status board rather than a result.

A free agent declaration is a door opening. It is not a player walking through it.
