Scrap, a back to back league MVP, got a farewell post. HyDra got one in the same minute. Nium, last season's Rookie of the Year, had already been thanked on October 12. The org framed all three as tributes rather than announcements, which is how CDL exits usually land while contracts run down, but the effect is the same: the roster that won three Majors across two years is being taken apart with ten days left before launch.
Reported. The farewell posts are LA Thieves' own and are timestamped October 13 for Scrap and HyDra and October 12 for Nium, so the exits themselves are settled. Nobody has published where the three players go, and the Scrap and HyDra to FaZe Vegas pairing is still only the September insider report we logged on this story, so the landing spots stay open.

Pro roster news looks like scene gossip until you remember where your own Search habits come from. The teams that win Majors decide which spawn trades are standard, which bomb plants are default, and which guns are worth building. That book travels downhill fast, into ranked, into third party ladders, and into the pub hardcore lobbies where most of us actually live. Scrap and HyDra have been two of the loudest authors of that book. Splitting them up and moving them resets whose habits get copied in the first month of MW4.
- Meta authorship: the first weeks of a new title are when SnD defaults get set. Which roster these two join decides which team is setting them.
- Film you can steal: if you study pro Search to improve, your reference team may be about to change. Wait for confirmed rosters before you rebuild your prep around anyone.
- Ladder reads: pro loadouts leak into allowed-only class rules on third party ladders within days. New lineups mean the restricted lists you scrim under can shift early.
- Nothing changes tonight: multiplayer is not live until October 23. No roster move alters a single pub round before then, so there is nothing here to act on yet.
What is not confirmed
Destinations. Not one of the three farewell posts says where anyone signs, and no outlet we track has published a confirmed landing spot. A September insider report, already logged on this story, claimed Scrap and HyDra were headed to FaZe Vegas after Drazah's exit there. That report has not been confirmed by either org, and the Thieves posts do not speak to it either way. Who fills the vacated Thieves seats is also unknown. Treat every name circulating in community threads as speculation, because that is all it is right now.
Three farewells are not a roster. They are three empty chairs.
What would verify it
A signing post from the receiving org, or a Call of Duty League roster page listing the players under a new team. Either one turns the destination from a report into a fact. Until then the only confirmed part of this is the leaving, and the only safe planning assumption is that the MW4 competitive map gets drawn after launch, not before it.
The first MW4 tournament, the Monster Energy Launch Invitational, runs November 6 to 8. Rosters that form in the next two weeks are the ones that show up there, which makes it the first real look at whose Search book survived the move.
